Verify any claims about organic certification or non-GMO status by looking for official seals or certifications listed in the product description.
- Customer Service: Before making a purchase, consider sending a query to the seller to test their responsiveness and willingness to provide detailed product information. This can also help gauge their customer service quality should any issues arise post-purchase.

Garlic Review on amazon FAQ
Based on the reviews and the guide article discussed, here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about purchasing garlic on Amazon, along with their answers:
1. Why do some garlic bulbs arrive sprouting or in poor condition?
Answer: Garlic bulbs may start to sprout or deteriorate if they have been stored for too long before being sold or if they’re kept in conditions that are too warm or humid during transit. To avoid this, sellers should ensure garlic is fresh and stored properly, and buyers should check reviews for mentions of such issues before purchasing.
2. What can I do if my garlic arrives damaged or not as described?
Answer: If your garlic does not meet the expected quality or matches the product description, contact the seller through Amazon to request a replacement or refund. Amazon’s A-to-Z Guarantee also offers protection if the seller does not resolve the issue to your satisfaction.
3. How can I ensure I’m buying fresh garlic on Amazon?
Answer: Look for sellers with high ratings and positive reviews, specifically mentioning the freshness of their garlic. Detailed product descriptions and recent harvest dates can also be indicators of freshness.
4. Is there a difference between Chinese garlic and American garlic?
Answer: Yes, there can be differences in flavor, size, and cultivation practices between Chinese and American garlic. American garlic is often preferred for its robust flavor and is usually grown under stricter quality controls, while Chinese garlic may be milder and is sometimes criticized for quality inconsistencies.
5. How should I store garlic purchased online?
Answer: Store garlic in a cool, dry place with good air circulation. Avoid refrigerating unpeeled garlic, as this can encourage sprouting. Peeled or chopped garlic can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
6. Can I plant the garlic I buy on Amazon?
Answer: Yes, you can plant garlic bulbs purchased online, but success may vary based on the garlic’s condition and variety. Look for bulbs intended for planting or those that are organic and have not been treated to inhibit sprouting.
7. Why are some garlic bulbs smaller than others?
Answer: Garlic bulb size can vary depending on the variety and growing conditions. Some types of garlic naturally produce smaller bulbs. Product descriptions should provide information about bulb size; if size is a concern, consider contacting the seller before purchasing.
8. How do I choose the best garlic variety for my cooking needs?
Answer: Consider the dish you’re making and the flavor profile you desire. Softneck garlic is versatile and generally milder, making it suitable for a range of dishes, while hardneck varieties offer more intense flavors, ideal for dishes where garlic is a standout ingredient.
9. What should I do if the garlic price seems too high?
Answer: Garlic prices can vary based on quality, origin, and organic certification. Compare prices across different sellers and consider the value offered (e.g., freshness, organic status). Remember, higher prices may reflect better quality or more sustainable farming practices.
10. How can I contact a seller if I have questions about their garlic?
Answer: On the product page, click on the seller’s name to go to their seller profile, where you should find an option to ask questions or contact the seller directly for more information about their garlic.

great fresh garlic |
Taste great and raised in America |
First bag had one rotten bulb. Not one to complain. I have ordered 4 bags. They just look appear not fresh is all but I grind three bulbs and put olive oil on then in quart jar and garlic infuses oil and put the said garloc on food plate and drink the oil by shot glass. I use so many bulbs that one rotten balb is collateral damage. |
Fresh and plump cloves. So good I ordered a 2nd bag. The second bag ~mediocre. 1/3 of the 2nd bag went to the compost pile. I won’t take a chance and order again. First picture ~cloves from first order. The other two pictures from the 2nd order. Several cloves mush and others dried up in the 2nd order. |

After receiving bad garlic on 2 orders I decided to call Christopher Ranch directly. Great people. They said if it’s sprouting and any rotten it’s been sitting for months. If it has a zip tie then it’s being refilled with either other not rotten yet from another bag or from China cheap garlic. The plastic clip has the date on it from Christopher Ranch. The only place Christopher Ranch suggests going to for their fresh garlic is Garlic World dot com. So I’m trying that route. Just ordered a 5 lb box for $30. Ant wait to taste the difference as I believe I’ve been getting stuff that should have been tossed. Thanks for listening. |
I’ve had nothing but quality and I mean quality bulbs from this company but the last batch I did get a couple of brown/old ones but….. I still will continue to buy and recommend these absolute awesome bulbs for eating and planting too. |
Love Gilroy garlic, so big. I usually cut them in half, bake 400 degrees for 40 minutes with oil, salt, and pepper. When I take them out I pluck out the carlic pieces and put them on buttered toast🤤. So good. |
My garlic bulbs arrived today, simple packaging, delivered on time & ready for planting out. Some complained about this product. I must have been among the lucky purchasers. The bulbs are in excellent condition, though rather small & ready for the garden. Thank you seller! |
I will never buy garlic at the grocery store again. This garlic is quality, and so fresh. I cook alot with it and raw also. Just try it! |
Very great flavor. They were fresh and organic. |
The garlic cloves were planted by preschoolers as part of a master gardener project. |
Fresh and firm |
I am very happy with the fresh garlic I received from Kejora. I needed garlic shipped to me in lockdown. I did not need two pounds or more as offered from other shippers. The six bulbs that I ordered arrived quickly and in excellent condition. The garlic is top quality and flavorful. |
Cloves arrived in poor quality. Packaging was smashed, some of the cloves are squished, aside from that, some of the cloves have already started to sprout, are dried up, and nothing I would expect to produce a decent crop next year. |

I ordered these bulbs back in March for a spring planting, and was astounded when the germination rate was very near 100%. I just lifted that crop and the bulbs were quite large for my rock, clay North Carolina soil. So, of course, I ordered again for a fall planting. The new bulbs came in two days, and they look even healthier than the ones I received in the spring. I can’t wait to get them in the ground!! |
Not much bigger than bulbs of garlic solid at the store. But it was wonderful roasted. |
It’s just to small. I like the larger garlic but it was very good if you prefer the smaller size garlic. |
Organic and fresh! Long-lasting, too! They were large bulbs and taste delicious. |

Update: To the Amazon Produce Buyers -the garlic I received with my 11/12/2021 order was beautiful and just perfect -it was fresh and the size, color, texture, and taste were just wonderful. Please check my order and try to determine where that most amazing garlic may have come from and praise that farmer. I tasted some raw before cooking because it was just so amazing and the flavor was very strong in a very pleasant way. That is the way garlic should be most of the time (obviously, not every crop is going to be a winner like that but that should be the general standard). I’ll add one star because of the 11/12 garlic, but you need to step up and improve quality control the rest of the year. |
Original older post: This last time I received thee garlic bulbs that were about half their normal size -I order this regularly. Oh, well. You can’t win them all -nature determines stuff and the farmers can’t always control everything, especially when organic and non-gmo. So, I’ll tolerate it this time. I will say that this is usually decent. The garlic is typically strong/flavorful and reasonably fresh. Sometimes I get some bad spots that I cut out or even entire cloves that are mushy or dried out total throw aways, but mostly this is good. You definitely want to stick with organic garlic. Whenever possible, i buy only organic garlic. |

Tasty |
Planted in October, I’ll let you know what it looks like in July. |
I placed my order for this garlic after I had already planted some other types. The bulb size was awesome. They were in great condition and there were a lot of cloves to each bulb. I kept some of the smaller ones to cook now. I was very surprised at the taste. It was more potent than any other I’ve tried and it had a bit of a kick too. I can’t wait to see how well they grow here in Massachusetts. |
The garlic I usually buy was unavailable and this looked like the next best choice. I was a little disappointed in a couple of the bulbs; they weren’t as robust as the others. However I planted them (48 plantable cloves) and the proof will be next spring. I did get more plantable cloves than I would have for the same money. Hopefully this will bring another bumper crop. |
Arrived fast AND was fresh – firm & fragrant cloves the were tightly bound. Very Good |
Best, flavorful garlic I have ever had. Hard to find in stores here, so of course I found it at Amazon. Previously got at a farmers market in Montana. It has incredible flavor. Makes my whole house smell good. Great in all my favorite dishes. |
No second chance for this company. |
Zero stars. Very poor quality. |
I am extremely disappointed. |
The product was delivered very promptly, but two of the bulbs were moldy, unfortunately. |
Also, the cellophane-like original packaging was put into a puffy envelope for mailing. It was not protective enough and the garlic bulbs were partially squashed. |

We use these garlic in our canning this year and we planted the leftovers for the winter so we can have more next year. The garlic is already coming up in the garden and looks wonderful. A great product for sure. A bit pricey compared to what you can get in the store, but very strong taste! |
Used for cooking and fermented garlic honey! Great quality! |
Like garlic, Very healthy. Ground in USA 🇺🇸 |
I like this brand & have had it in the past. It usually is very fragrant, fresh, flavorful, tight bulbs with large cloves. I’ve had bad experiences with buying this garlic online as of late. Unfortunately, for me, this is my only option in obtaining this product. I’d tried it via a friend a few times & finally decided to buy my own. The first time, I bought it here & it was majority great. It had some bad bulbs & cloves but, overall was a good haul. The second time, I bought from another site that batch WAS HORRIFIC. Bugs infested rotted,, moldy, TINY bulbs was the whole batch. I couldn’t bring myself to even try & find a few salvageable cloves. The third & most recent bag I bought, brought me back to the first bag I bought which was from here. Ironically, from same seller. This bag though, wasn’t as bad as the second bag but, CERTAINLY was NOT NEARLY as good as the first. I am so disappointed because I still have to wait on the garlic (money reasons) & be without. This means, I have to try AGAIN, to buy at a later date with hopes of a better harvest to be sold to me. However, the seller of the first & third bags is great. Their communication & promptness in addressing the matters is almost stellar. I am hoping that I can try one last time with them in hopes of getting the great quality I once WAS familiar with. I have a feeling this product’s brand is being “handled” by AND with “non USA”, yet, USA approved/protected/partnered unsavory practices & “treatments”. After all, the garlic capitol, Cali is “alleged” to be …….. Soooo, yeah, that part. Lastly, despite, the seller’s faux pas with this order, I must still give them credit for both the first order I bought from them AND for their wonderful customer service. After all, they aren’t responsible for the second time I bought this (from someone & somewhere else. They’re only responsible for the 1st & 3rd purchases. In closing, give this seller a try & get you some of this usually, deliciously, top notch garlic. |

Was super excited to get fresh organic garlic. Problem is most bulbs have one rotten clove which must be dug out from the rest. Flavor is pretty good. |
Great product that exceeded my expectations! |
Had small mix up on my second order, but email note sent to company was handled asap, no hassles or extra charges! |
These arectypica for what you get at the store in size. Quite a lot of them were bad at the ends so just had to cut off. Qould be nice to know what this variety is if I want to plant in Central missouri. I know these don’t appear to be hard neck type because there’s no central stem. There are quite a few tiny cloves indicating they were picked before their peak. |
Really like I eat like candy. Will buy more on Amazon . Their word is good. |
Nice, fresh garlic! |
Bought enough to roast in the over with olive oil.came out delicious. |
The bulbs look small. But the actual individual pieces of garlic 🧄are really big. The third time I bought them. I’m always happy with the flavor, size and freshness. |
Since when did all the garlic in the grocery stores come from China? What’s going on? This product is grown in the United States. I don’t think we should have to get out of garlic from China too. The bulbs are on the small side but then again if they’re huge it makes you wonder what’s going on. I didn’t find them ultra fresh, but it is winter better than anything else I found recently. |
Very large cloves |
Fresh and bold flavor |
It was garlic; it was fresh and it was a good price. What’s not to like? |
The only caveat I’d say is that this is an add-on to additional purchases you are already making. |
The garlic isn’t an order in and of itself. |
Christopher Ranch is our go-to garlic since it comes from the USA instead of China. |
The garlic is fine. Like many things these days, it’s imported. Came with a few spots that I cut out before using. Better off going to the market for this item. |
Excellent quality garlic/ may go to supplier/ eat daily to boost immunity |
The garlic is much fresher than what you get at the grocery stores or Asian markets. Strong, pungent, and crisp! Just what you want in great garlic! |
Absolutely the best garlic from the USA. Worth every penny. You have to try it!!!!!! |
We grow our own garlic but because we don’t have a root cellar (and use it in everything) we inevitably run out about 6 months after harvest. I refuse to buy Chinese garlic – way too many reports of heavy metals, banned pesticides and industrial waste turning up in Chinese produce. I thought I’d try two bags from Christopher Ranch this spring to tide us over until July, as it’s grown in California. This garlic is pungent, has just the right amount of heat vs. flavor, and can be peeled fairly easily for a softneck. I used up one bag pretty quickly; as a test I left the other bag on the countertop at room temperature and the heads lasted a good 4 months before they started to deteriorate. At that point, I froze what was left, and it’s not turned bitter after thawing. In short, it’s the next best thing if you don’t live near Gilroy! (The garlic capital.) |
Growing up not far from Gilroy, California am familiar with the garlic fields just off the Interstate 101. I purchased these for growing but found these to be the same garlic bulbs in the markets for eating. I used the smaller cloves for adding into the meals I prepared and planted the larger ones in my raised beds as I had always done. Knowing this, purchasing is a bit pricy but good quality bulbs are in the sacks. You decide… |
Great garlic flavor |
rotten cloves in almost every bulb…not good for making black garlic.. |
I order in Sept thinking I would get freshly harvested garlic from Gilroy, but instead I got garlic that may have been sitting around getting rotten. Very disappointed Shame on them for not selling a good product. |

While I have lived in Texas for a couple of years, I quickly learned that not all garlic is the same. Having lived in California, I became with the Wonderful Garlic in Gilroy!!! I so missed having it to cook with, so I ordered/received 2 bags of Gilroy Garlic, and was not disappointed. Shared with some of my friends, and they also tasted the difference. Will be ordering more!!! THE BEST!!! |
Gilroy Garlic is the Best Garlic! I mean if you want really tasty, good smelling garlic that is True Medicine, Purchase Garlic From Gilroy! You will not be disappointed! |
I got to share this garlic with friends and family and they claimed the same thing….BEST GARLIC EVER! |
I use garlic all the time for cooking, infusing, making oil for ear infections, eating raw chopped with fruit for true medicine. |
I ordered garlic from photo of bagged garlic clearly labeled as grown in California. I received loose garlic in a box wrapped in newspapers of a foreign language with no indication that this is grown in the United States. There is absolutely no garlic odor coming from the product. I don’t know how it will taste as I’m afraid to eat it not knowing where it came from. |

i dry this garlic to put into my own seasonings. This is a very good product. And i just love this product. |
I am a bit of a foodie, love to cook and use a lot of garlic. Tired of inferior product we are seeing in the stores was excited to find Gilroy Garlic by a respected name. I was even more excited when I received two packages and the tag stated it was packed on April 19, 2021. |
The excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I started peeling the bulbs and found that every one of them had sprouted. Sprouts are a sign that garlic is starting to go bad and the fact that anyone would sell this and package it as it was fresh is very disturbing. |
It’s one reason I love Amazon and quickly went on line to do a return and in this case they do not allow returns. Buy at your own risk as I was just ripped off for two pounds of garlic that has to go in the trash. |

Fast shipping, good quality, great price |
For myself and as a gift to my daughter and grandson. Excellent garlic, visited Gilroy GA, even had garlic ice cream. My chef wannabe grandson was so excited to receive the garlic! |
Was very pleased with this purchase. Happy to know exactly where my FRESH garlic came from. |
Follow up. Garlic did not last very long. Not as fresh as it seemed. |
I was very happy to find this excellent product. Arrived fast and packed well. Great quality and from the Garlic Capitol of the World. Thanks!!! |
I expected the garlic to be fresher . While they dont have the green sprout, they are a bit dry. |
Nice that there is no mold. |
Bought last September. Kept in very dry, dark, room temperature storage. The left over 1 lb (out of 4) is rotten through and through. Next time I’m just buying 2 lbs so that it will last. Good garlic, just too much of it to store for a year. |
Nice solid heads although some cloves are on the small side. Hopefully it will last! |
Nice big cloves, no sprouts, it is a lot of garlic. |
Grown in USA, Natural, great taste |
This great garlic… as you would expect wight he Gillroy appellation. The problem is I can’t get good garlic in Florida. Flying four pounds of garlic coast-to-coast just for me, does not seem a very sustainable act. Kinda makes me feel like a right-wing climate denier. But, man is this garlic good. |
Garlic bulbs just thrown in a shipping box loose. No packaging and no indication they were from California. I was not happy. Picture shows bulbs in a bag, clearly marked. Some cloves were bad, but most good. |
I have been buying the two pound fresh garlic USA California Heirloom Gilroy’s finest every few months for some time. But this is the first time I have purchased it and when I opened the box and then the plastic bag, the garlic felt damp and some of it was moldy. |
I’m a garlic nut! Got tired of buying that garbage from China. Love Christopher Ranch garlic. A good value. I store the bags (usually order 2) in a dark pantry. The garlic keeps very well. Try grilling it – delish! |
California garlic is the best in the world, PERIOD! |
Clean tidy garlic delivered to my door, all garlic A+ quality |
I am very disappointed with the garlic. I purchased the same brand last year last year at this time and it held up beautifully. this is horrible. |

The strong taste of real garlic like we experienced in France. |
Great garlic, great tasting, and much much easier to peel than store bought. Have had some difficulty storing it over the hot humid summer, but was just reading up on freezing garlic so not worried about any overage. |
Love it is grown in u.s. |
From the United States |
We will certainly purchase this again. Garlic is fabulous and shipping was even quicker than promised. Very pleased. Thank you. |
I was not happy with this order, garlic was not fresh at all and quite stale and not worth the price bought. Order was not correct. Will not be purchasing again. Certainly not the quality expected being right here in California. |
Good garlic! |
I am very satisfied with my order . In the future i will always order from Christopher Ranch. |
Watch the series ROTTEN on Netflix and make your own decision |
Garlic 80% rotten. |
garlic arrived today in perfect condition with a pack date of 10-17-14…very pleased |
All products were what I expected and appreciate the prompt response |
Great! |
The best garlic! Fresh…..ordering again. |
Great food/ |
EXCELLENT |
Check prices before purchase and remember that you have no insurance if you will get a fresh bag regardless of all their claims… |
You won’t want to, but sucking on a clove of garlic like a lozenge will help your throat and your infection. Garlic contains allicin, a powerful antibiotic, which helps it kill viruses and bacteria. Pop in a raw clove as soon as you feel a tickle in your throat to ward off infection before it takes hold, she instructs. Keep it in as long as you can stand. |
I place quinoa, frozen peas in a pot, add water and tomato paste. I sauté lots of onion separately then in ten minutes I add paprika, cumin, dill weed, gram marsala, crushed red pepper, turmeric and lots of crushed Christopher Ranch garlic, mix it well and add the mix to the pot and let it sit without heat for five minutes. Delicious, delicious, delicious. |
By the way, garlic is rich in the amino acid arginine, which is a precursor in the production of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide dilates blood vessels and promotes greater, ahem, blood flow. In other words: skip the Viagra in favor of a bulb or two of garlic. |
Storing Garlic in Oil: Extreme care must be taken when preparing flavored oils with garlic or when storing garlic ain oil. Peeled garlic cloves may be submerged in oil and stored in the freezer for several months. Do not store garlic in oil at room temperature. Garlic-in-oil mixtures stored at room temperature provide perfect conditions for producing botulism toxin (low acidity, no free oxygen in the oil, and warm temperatures). The same hazard exists for roasted garlic stored in oil. At least three outbreaks of botulism associated with garlic-in-oil mixtures have been reported in North America. By law, commercially prepared garlic in oil has been prepared using strict guidelines and must contain citric or phosphoric acid to increase the acidity. Unfortunately, there is no easy or reliable method to acidify garlic in the home. Acidifying garlic in vinegar is a lengthy and highly variable process; a whole clove of garlic covered with vinegar can take from 3 days to more than 1 week to sufficiently acidify. As an alternative, properly dried garlic cloves may be safely added to flavor oils. |
Not China |
Christopher Ranch garlic is almost tasteless. While you can add more garlic, the taste is still going to be bland. The garlic sold tends to go bad very quickly, so a only buy this if you’re intimidated by flavorful garlic and planning on losing a lot of bulbs. |
Fast shipping. Fresh 🙂 |
Muy fresco |
Good stuff |
Good garlic. |
Good flavor of fresh garlic. Just like grocery store |
Nice and Fresh |
I have ordered this garlic regularly for the past three years and each and every time it is plump, fresh, moist, and each clove is large. |
Quality and taste are great! |
Good quality always fresh and for a really great price it is hard to beat elsewhere. |
Worked well in my recipe. |
Great Price as compared to other websites, As well as the great quality. I use garlic to season my vegetables, as well as the ‘Red Onions’ !. |
Nice package |
Second time order, again FRESH! Pleased! |
My wife had to tell me the other day. STOP BUYING THEM! I order from Amazon fresh every week and for a buck I get one of this butta… “the boss” says I need to stop doing that xD |
P.S. I ordered once more again just to see her face rofl |
It works. It’s affordable. Have had some exquisite flavor garlic. This is acceptable in little doses. Not the best I have bought. But 3 cloves for .99 it’s fine for a tough of flavor. |
I’ve been using garlic for years and I’ve never once had a vampire in my home. This stuff really works. |
Our household enjoy garlic so go through a lot every week. These bulbs were well sized, no imperfections that we noticed and the price seemed fair. |
This garlic is wonderful for the price |
always fresh and the price is amazing. way cheaper than my local grocery. |
I have been purchasing this garlic for a few years and always satisfied with the quality |
What’s to dislike about onions? Delicious and fresh |
Tasted just like garlic and did not spontaneously combust, 10/10. |
Make sure I buys organic garlic taste better and clean. |
It came with 3 …. but a big chunk of one was brown. Then another was mushy… |
Many medicinal uses and well as food flavoring… |
The freshness, but the bulbs were too small |
Delivered fresh, and its good quality garlic |
The bulbs are smaller than usual. |
Ok for cooking! |
My garlic wants to grow….however, I think it’s a fall planted item. I won’t eat them like this, so I will plant the heads near my roses to ward off the evil deer spirits. |
Very happy with these garlic, cloves are plump and with a lot of flavor. And fresh!! |
These garlic are very fresh and lasts long. Tastes great. I use them for garlic butter salted garlic bread. They taste great very fresh as roasted garlic too. Some pieces are chunky and some were smaller, but the garlic butter oven baked on crossaint were so yummy, I made more to eat. Great with fried noodles and sautéed chicken in soy sauce, ketchup and honey water. Great as a toast rub too. Very pungent. |
Really good price for my area. |
It’s a good quality and fresh product |
Great |
The price was definitely right, but these are about 1/2 the size of regular garlic. See picture posted for size comparison. Nothing bad about the flavor, just know that it might be smaller than you expected. |
Customer image |
I buy this garlic regularly and it normally arrives super fresh. Tastes great in a variety of meals. A great addition to soups, eggs, bread, etc. |
These are fresh and pack a good flavor, as garlic should, but just be aware that the bulbs are pretty tiny. |
This garlic is not very substantial..small cloves, not many. When I pick my own loose garlic, it comes in larger heads and more “to it.” Hard to complain about garlic, but it does seem like taking advantage of home shoppers to only have these sort of meager choices. However..I am grateful that they have any products at all..let alone deliver them. |
Finally no dried out cloves . I will keep buying this product . |
The flavor was sweet not harsh or bitter . |
They aren’t always fresh. I’ve had them with mold under the skin. If they are fresh though, they’re great. |
These tasted fine. But the heads of garlic were encased in many layers of dried skin and the cloves had a thick skin around each of them, making them a lot of work to get to the flavor. I’ve had heads of garlic from other sources that were twice the size for the same cost and with equal or better flavor. I hope that this is just a result of the drought in California and that Christopher Ranch’s excellent reputation isn’t harmed by this crop of garlic. |
Mmm my fav garlic will buy again ❤ |
Customer imageCustomer image |
These aren’t 3oz each … but I guess if the 3oz in the description is for all three combined, then I got a “deal” since mine weighted in at 5.2oz |
Lesson learned. Another item better to be bought in person, than through Amazon Fresh |
Yeah sure price wise it seemed pretty good u til you receive the products and try to use it. Product itself looks fresh and good however these garlic are so small it’s hard to peel or roast or whatever you try to do. I stop buying these and shackle a dollar more and get a decent sized garlics to make my life easier. |
Good fresh garlic. Tasted garlicky. |
Let me begin by saying I never thought I’d care about garlic. But apparently I DO care. |
This garlic is more expensive, smaller and more of a hassle than loose, larger heads of garlic you buy from the store. I was so distressed to have to spend more time peeling the individual cloves. I hate that, peeling garlic is the worst. |
Buy unbranded regular garlic, not this |
I’m so surprised at how good amazon fresh delivery is and their products. |
I don’t know how they do it but it’s amazing. I think everyone should use it. |
It’s freshness |
Fresh and great flavor but would be better if they were at least 4 or 5 garlics for the price |
Some are not usable |
But cloves too small. |
No real difference between this and buying it in the produce section of the market. |
Garlic was so dry and hard I could not cut it without it skating allover my cutting board. Had no flavor so I had to resort to my granulated garlic which is okay but not for linguine with oil and fresh garlic. |
Fresh! now that I am on a sodium free diet, I though garlic would ad some flavor to my food. It certainly did with half an onion and a jalapeño |
I tasted a little and flavor was okay but I did not feel comfortable as it looked old with black areas |
Nice to be able to purchase a smaller quantity like this. Seemed fresh. |
These were fine garlic, ok taste. But the heads were small and had multiple cloves that were all quite small. I prefer large cloves so I don’t have to peel as many. |
Obviously old garlic, already had green plant sprouting from the tops. One piece had cloves that where soft and clear yellowish brown. waste of the money |
Unfortunately, the garlic was dry and brown in many places. Literary, it looked like a dry brown powder |
Great on beer battered fish tacos! |
Came fresh and did the trick! |
These were fresh and just right for my garlic and mushroom sauce. |
Value for your money. Less expensive than going to local grocery store. |
La calidad deja mucho que desear, nacidos los dientes y no fresco. |
Smallest garlic you’ve ever seen. |
Fresh and good, fresco y bueno |
Since I’ve purchased this product I have not been bite by any vampires. |
Best garlic come from Gilroy, CA. And this is it! |
Have stayed fresh for a while now. Good price for 3. |
garlic lovers garlic |
Not particularly outstanding in any way. Just mild flavored, not a great or bad price, not the freshest but not rotten either. |
Really fresh! |
Like other reviewers, I was not too surprised at the size (small!) of the 3 bulbs/heads in the mesh bag. What prompted this minimum review is that each individual clove from one head is so TINY! It takes 4 or 5 cloves from this Christopher Ranch garlic (seen on left in photo) to equal 1 clove of standard/normal garlic (seen on the right in photo). I have better ways to spend my life than peeling the skin off 5 cloves of garlic instead of one. |
Taste is fine, freshness is good. |
Customer image |
You can’t really judge size from a picture. Recipes call for normal sized cloves. I have learned to be very careful when shopping on line. I still receive items that are much smaller than normal way too often. |
Fresh and strong in flavor. |
I bought it and it was the only thing in the whole bag. It cost me an extra $0.08 for the bag when they could have added it to one of the other bags of grocery. And they say they are for climate change. Not at this rate they are not. |
Each head is slightly bigger than a quarter. Perfectly fine garlic but wow its tiny. Like smaller than a shallot. |
The garlic bulbs are rather small. |
These three bulbs put together are about the size of one garlic bulb I’d buy from the grocery store. |
EDIT: The cloves were actually pretty big. Bigger than what you’d get on a larger bulb. |
Super fresh. Very happy. |
Customer image |
Three heads of garlic, and upon tearing the mesh, I had to throw away a whole head, plus half of the second, because it was old, dry, and dusty. These garlic cloves/heads are smaller. I have no problem with that. My problem is that it’s anything but fresh! I would never buy this again. At least, not through Amazon Fresh. |
Not fresh. One of the cloves was rotted through. A lot of the other cloves had rot spots. It takes a lot to have garlic go bad so these three bulbs must have been very old. |
I have purchased these twice and they are dry as dirt inside and very brown. |
Arrived sprouting and smelling like farts, totally garbage flavor compared to the garlic I get from co-op or fresh thyme. |
Very small dried and old |
These heads were SO small and I mean small. The size of a smaller walnut. I bought 2 packs for cooking, but when I saw the size, I was like “I’m not peeling 16 cloves of garlic for a tsp. Ended up just cutting the tops off, putting a bit of olive oil on them in a small covered baking dish and roasted them. Even that was a pain. Won’t buy again. |
Customer imageCustomer imageCustomer image |
Some of the garlic bulbs were very old and crumbled with horns…They were not picked out for freshness. |
Received the garlic. I could not find any where in the description that the garlic was imported from Mexico. However, on the bag, clearly states it is a product of Mexico. |
They all sprouted, but I will have to wait until next summer to say much more. |
Never grew for me. |
It is easy to peel! It was a little expensive. |
Very good taste and easy to peel. I am planting most of it but I cook with it too. I used it for Huli Huli chicken thigh marinade yesterday. Delicious every time! |
My first and most likely my last Amazon Fresh produce order. Product photos advertise a higher grade of garlic heads than those received with my order. Over the top cost for quality of product received. If you are going to charge top prices you had better deliver top quality. Wal*Mart had much better garlic this morning for 20% of this garlic’s delivered cost. No thanks, I will drive and shop local next time. |
I purchased these to plant and the heads looked good, but when I broke the cloves apart they weren’t. I planted a couple of the better looking ones but I’m not hopeful. This is not a returnable item, so money wasted. See photos. |

The garlic was fresh and plump, and the cloves were large. Shipment was prompt. I do wish the company would offer a smaller package than six heads for smaller gardeners, but my gardening friends loved the largesse. |
Play Video |
Terrible value! Prepackaged, not fresh, horribly expensive for what you get! Not at all a good deal for the money!! Half the cloves are dried out and nonexistent! I’ve been ripped off and can’t return for money back!!!!!! |
This garlic is the freshest and the best looking garlic I have ever seen. The price is very reasonable and affordable. My garlic came well packed and look great, and shipping was super fast. |
Delicious hardnecked garlic! I was happy to find this product on Amazon, since softnecked garlic makes me ill but I can eat hardnecked. |
Good garlic but a bit pricey. Worth it though |
This is hardneck garlic that is in prime condition. Nice firm cloves. |
I have just discovered growing garlic this past year. I bought several of this variety and planted last fall, right along with different varieties I had purchased locally. Not ONE SINGLE bulb grew or even looks to be late growers. Very disappointed. |
Good buy! |
It’s what I have been searching for and I have to pace myself it’s so good |
If you love garlic you cannot, not have it in your pantry |
This looked like a great deal. Much more affordable than my previous year’s purchase. Great fall sprouts. Tall summer growth. Puny bulbs harvested. They do taste great, but really… |
Great taste. Noticed a pick up in overall feelings a few hours after eating them. |
Several of the cloves were rotten |
The garlic was perfect condition to get planted. I placed a second order for more. |
Great quality, delivered on time, like it will bye it again and recommend |
Large heads of garlic with large purple cloves. Excellent flavor and value. Arrives in a timely manner. |
The heads have nice firm large cloves, important for planting in the fall for next year |
Very big, very strong-tasting and slightly purplish. Very good stuff. I will try to grow some from what I received. |
It is excellent garlic. So says my sauce. |
Already starting to stabilize for next spring. |
Seller should not advertise this product for planting, might be OK for eating |
I ordered this garlic in September of 2021 and received it today, June 13, 2022. The garlic is dried out and dead. The time for returning this item is months past, so lesson learned. I will not be ordering from this seller ever again. |
Customer image |
A few of them are rotten. They are very small compared to the competitor. I can’t even return them! Sorry, lost a customer. |
Customer image |
My garden was prepped for the garlic. Planted at proper time. The garlic only produced two stocks. I have gardened for years, never had such a crop failure Very disappointing! |
Every clove of all four bulbs was sprouting a green shoot, which meant in order to use, each clove had to cut open and the green sprout removed. This is NOT easy with arthritic hands. I was NOT a happy camper! |
I have planted 50 cloves. It’s been over two weeks. None of it is growing. NONE. I will update my review once I see at least one. Still nothing after three weeks. I wish I could give them -1000. |
The bulbs were all growing when we got them every clove |
I ordered these bulbs because I thought they were fresh. They are just as old as anything I can get in the grocery. DO NOT BUT THIS! RIP OFF! |
Was old and spoiled |
The garlic has the root base cut off. You can’t grow them without this. I would never pay so much for unplantable garlic. Waste of money for sterile bulbs. |
This is not hardneck garlic. It will not survive overwinter in a climate where hardneck garlic is required (zone 5). |
Shipped in a soft pouch and the bulbs arrived completely broken apart into the individual cloves. Also only a few were purple – not all, as advertised. |
50% of the bulbs were bad. Subscription cancelled. |
I was disappointed with this garlic as it was not fresh and had some mold growing. Would definitely not buy again. |
This garlic came in really good condition despite what some reviews said. I planted it in my garden just before the first frost. I am now hoping that nature does me right and gives me a ton of garlic. Thus far, my skill at growing garlic has been lacking. |
Based on the quality of the garlic, I have every hope that this garlic will produce for me. |
I love garlic, and I love making black garlic, because it is such a healthy commodity, and I am looking for different hard neck type of garlic is I can have a verity |
All the bulbs were perfect. I’ve already planted the cloves in my fall garden. |
easy to grow |
, Good size heads, good size cloves |
Parts were useable |
I planted this garlic in the fall and harvested it during the spring. It did great!!! In fact, out of all of my garlic and onions, this was the most successful. Delicious, bigger bulbs, stayed up and alive through the whole winter in my zone 7b garden. |
Be sure, with hard neck garlic, to harvest the scapes for eating. They’re a delicacy! And after you harvest the scapes, let the bulbs stay in the ground and grow for another couple of weeks. That’s when they’ll get their big growth spurt and will be ready to harvest soon after! |
Small bulbs of 4 – 5 large cloves, all in good condition. |

I’ve used one entire glove already and it was pretty good |
I never had groceries delivered before COVID-19. It turned out to be so great! I haven’t had a single problem with ANY of the produce I’ve ordered, be it from amazon fresh or wholefood. It seems like the shoppers & delivery folks do a thoughtful job. I feared the prices would be higher than my usual store, but it’s really a variety – some are the same, some slightly higher, & (to a lesser degree), some a lot higher. It just seems to depend on the item. Which makes sense to me. And as a prime member, no delivery fee! I was more than happy to tip & on check-out, a tip amount is recommended, but not mandatory. You also have the option of selecting your own amount, higher or lower. |
My number one go to ingredient for most of my meals. |
VINE VOICE |
This is a very good garlic I used for cooking. It was fresh, and very tasteful. I use this in many of my foods. I must add, however, that this particular batch was much smaller in size. Overall, great. |
Fresca y en buen estado llegó a mi puerta |
These have good flavor, always fresh – no spoiled cloves, are perfect size for when you don’t need a giant bulb. |
Delicious 😋 |
Fun Fact: Garlic bulbs can last up to six months. |
Customer image |
Quite frequently the middle bulb is not good. Mushy or moldy just depends. |
Its good flavorful garlic and I am a true garlic lover and use it in most of my cooking. The only thing I disagree with is the listing states “Delicious on their own as a healthy snack or as part of a recipe”. Personally, I don’t know of anyone who eats garlic for a snack. Perhaps someone enjoys it that way, but not me. |
It was great when I first received. The flavor and texture are to the point. Unfortunately it went bad within just a couple of days. It started to sprout (and yes you can eat sprouted garlic and its sprout, and those are all very nutritious) and I wonder how fresh it was when received. |
From the United States |
The bottom of the garlic was turning black. I tossed it in the garbage as soon as I opened the bag. Didn’t take a picture. Will do so next time. |
I bought 8 bags 3 bulbs each. The bulbs are not very big. |
I used 1 bag immediately for salsa same day of delivery. 1 bulb had some dry cloves, 2 bulbs had squishy wet brown cloves. many cloves in the 3 bulbs were still useable. |
I’ve tentatively felt the bulbs in the remaining 7 bags and it seems I may end up with similar situation where some cloves are nasty, but some seem hopeful. |

Very surprised that one of the cloves started sprouting already. |

Can’t go wrong with Whole Foods! Always fresh! I add garlic to almost everything. Always enhances the flavor to any dish. Win win in my book! 👍🏻 |
This is the first time I purchased a sac of garlic and received perfect, fresh garlic with every bulb. In the past, when purchasing in a sac, there was always old shriveled garlic bulbs thrown in…NOT with Whole Foods, every single bulb was fresh and deliciojus. |
When fresh batch is delivered, perfectly fine. However, half the time, we get spoiled batch. It’s a bit of a hit or miss, so we tend to just opt for the non-organic ones to avoid hassle of refund/waiting for another order. |
These are very small bulbs and have a consistently poor shelf life. |
Amazon needs to find a supplier in Gilroy, CA where they grow REAL garlic for garlic lovers. |
I buy this garlic sometimes for convenience. They taste better and authentic to me. More flavor and florence. But just tiny and expensive. |
These are garlic for sure. But they always come way too small and its a pain, with my big hands, to chop these. I have piece of mind knowing this is organic, but find a way to let them expand and grow a bit more before harvesting. Thanks. |
In good shapes most of the time. These has root so they are not bleached. It’s a premium price for premium quality. The flavor profile is mild. Smaller heads btw. |
This is the first time I bought grocery from Amazon fresh. It was a very good experience. Garlic was good, just they are a little small. |
Surprised to see USDA organic garlic for a reasonable price at Whole Foods. Don’t quote me on this but I believe these were grown domestically and not in China as most are. Quality seems good and the size is average. Will certainly purchase again. |
It was old so the inside were dried and started to rot and moldy. |
I used it in cooking. The bubs were really fresh and stayed fresh. Aksi they were easier to peel than most. |
These heads of garlic are small but very fresh and flavorful. All of the ones I received are nice and firm. The mesh bag is nice I hang them up in my pantry and they last a long time. |
Arrived not fresh. Green roots forming in the center of the clove. (Sizes are smaller side) |
Customer image |
Excellent flavor |
Good quality, small cloves |
Excellent garlic. The only thing wrong was my fault not noticing the clusters are smaller then I normally buy elsewhere. Delicios though. Thanks. |
It’s garlic. Nothing to really dislike. They arrived fairly fresh and firm (I’ve seen fresher). |
The heads were noticeably smaller that the conventionally grown ones in the supermarket. Supposedly, they are organic because they did not last long before going limp and starting to brown out. Use them up within two weeks of purchase if you can. |
yummy |
Taste so good I used them to grow some more, growing beautifully |
They weren’t very fresh& the cloves were tiny. |
One of the three heads of garlic was rotten. It happens, I’m not miffed about it, but it should not have been placed into the delivery bin if it wasn’t good to eat. Other two were good to go and tasted fine. |
Haven’t seen a single vampire since these arrived. That cannot be a coincidence. Will update my review if anything changes. |
Possibly best for those who have garlic presses. |
Tasty but not environmental packaging. |
The product was too small for our use. We were disappointed since we use a lot of garlic. The cloves were too small. |
Whenever I have bought these I have been disappointed to find that mold and rot seems to be a problem. You’re basically paying for 3 bulbs but most of the time you’re only getting 1… maybe 2, if you’re “lucky.” |
Good flavor |
For garlic it is rather mild flavored… I put this in most all of my soups, meats & vegetable dishes…. |
Green in the middle. I might just had a bad bag |
This garlic is great but we order delivery and the one chosen for us last time was quite moldy. Yikes. But Amazon and Whole Foods are great with returns and I immediately received money back. |
a good bargain for fresh garlic bulbs if you can only purchase from WFs |
Small and not very fresh. But the Fresh value was okay. |
Great Taste and very fresh smell. |
Real garlic made in USA |
Great product |
I want Russian and/or black garlic options: Loud pungent early garlic ducks Donkey sticks. |
Good fresh garlic |
These are not whole garlic, but like smaller than a half of a whole garlic. You are better off buying the whole medium garlic. |
Good quality organic Garlic. It was delivered fresh and great fragrance and Taste. |
Good garlic. No bad cloves |
Out of the two packs that I ordered, and received, one of the cloves were old. I threw it away. The others were okay. |
The garlic bulbs were small and too old . They were sprouting on the inside. I tried to bake them in olive oil but they were unusable. |
sometimes they’re fresh, sometimes half rotten and older than i am. wow someone needs to learn about stock rotation. |
Fresh, good quality |
TAstes good and fresh! |
Great for 🥘 cooking |
I love garlic. It arrived fresh. Thanks |
me enviaron unos muy pequeños tal vez el que los eligio pero todo llega fresco es lo que me gusta solo que muy pequeños |
Good |
Nice and fresh. |
I never knew heads of garlic could be this small. They’re about one fourth the size of a normal head of garlic. The cloves are too small to deal with. I threw it out. Total waste. Do not buy this. |
very small petals |
OK |
NA |
Good value |
Were already just starting to sprout when they go to my house |
Good |
Fresh and tasty |
Needed this. |
It’s garlic |
Suitable for multiple healthy recipes |
I am 43 years old and had not seen a garlic go bad until now. I had seen them sprout, or dry over time, but never go bad and moldy. Apparently they can! within one week of purchase, on the kitchen benchtop (where I always keep my garlics), they became spoiled and moldy. and I had to throw them all out. such a bad experience from Whole Foods. |
Not fresh, not even close. The tiny bulb opened up has all brown dried out cloves! Please see the pics. This was the 1st time I ordered these and will be the last. |
Customer imageCustomer imageCustomer image |
Arrived ALREADY SPROUTED. DRIED OUT and SPROUTED. Partially moldy! Will NOT purchase again. I’ve put the spouted ones in pots on the window sill – growing and in about 90 DAYS we’ll maybe have some fresh garlic 😠 |
The bulbs were so small. |
Garlic was dry! Had tried growing new sprouts but dead |
Once again– obviously old produce was sent |
I have purchased this garlic several times, and EVERY TIME it’s been old or rotten. Mushy, and/or stems growing. I am done. PS. I live in a VERY LARGE city, so turnover should not be a problem. |
This garlic used to be fresh and tasty. Unfortunately the two times i’ve purchased it in the past month it has been either growing sprouts or just rotten. |
2 of the 3 bulbs have mold on them. Returning to the store. |
I ordered this and all 3 of the garlic bulbs were rotten inside. So plan on a backup. |
Customer imageCustomer image |
These are great but so small. I need like 4 cloves to make up for 2 in a recipe |
No flavor nor odor. The garlic all three bulbs was rotten |
Fungus on garlic I ordered only a few days ago. |
Customer image |
When I peel them, has weird brown spots on them. Maybe was not stored properly or was too old. |
These garlic bulbs are almost the size of a regular clove. Don’t bother ordering. |
Ordered this for delivery and was extremely dissappointed. The garlic was all broken up upon delivery – no bulbs! |
I ordered garlic from the same seller but got two different quality. The first set I gave 5 stars, but the second set I bought I’ll give 3 stars for at least having the roots compared to the ones that come from China. The second batch did come packaged in the mesh package that the China garlic usually comes in. On the contrary, the first batch came lose and before I could open the package, my mail box smelled like garlic, so I knew it was garlic before I even opened the package. The first bacth had an aroma that reminded me of the good old days when you could still smell the garlic on your hands even after washing them several times after handling the garlic. Not that I wanted the smell to linger that long, but at least knew it was organic. That said, I was so excited and pleased with my first batch that I eagerly ordered my second batch which disappointed me; because even when I had the garlic touching my nose, I could not smell it, even though I paid roughly $8 for six individual bulbs. Shocking, I know! Meanwhile, the first batch got my kitchen smelling real good. And, yes, i love the smell of garlic, especially when it mixes with certain other spices; but I’m aware others may not like the lingering smell as much. So, for my good old fashioned garlic lovers, you could take the risk to try this seller and hope that you get a really good first batch like I did. Otherwise, good luck with your hunt for some good ole fashion strong organic garlic. Hope my review at least helped one more curious or indecisive buyer. |
Nice fresh, full, plump bulbs and ready for planting. Very nice looking garlic. Looks like I paid for six bulbs but only got four. To bad. It would have been five stars if seller would have done what they said. |
1st ones I got were fine this one was like old and not very potient. I have to cut and chew them so I don’t get bit by mesquitoes here in my sleep. I had to throw half of these away. Outsides were almost black in places and the insides were yellow. Not pearly white like normal. Thank goodness mesquitoes are almost gone for another year. They we’re so bad (the mesquitoes) that the City even had to let go of a bunch of bats to get rid of them! |
This garlic is so good my wife was eating it and one moment she is talking to me in English and the next she is on the phone speaking Chinese. Wow… how could you learn Chinese so fast… and to top it off, she is speaking Chinese. Is it possible, since she came from China, she always knew how and was sharing this secret with other Chinese women… Darn Garden Spy!!! |
I received some garlic that didn’t have the purple tinge I was expecting. So I contacted them and a new batch was sent out immediately! |
This product came in looking fresh and it takes like a good garlic. |
The reason for this was to plant it for spring harvest, it’s the first time for me and I have no idea how it will grow but I’m hopeful. I got about 60 cloves planted and will let you know what happens in the spring. Great value for the product. Thanks. |
ordered with some reserve about how fresh and whole the bulbs would be. these were really nice. will remember this grower for future need. |
Just received fast replacement of fresh, large garlic heads. Complained to seller that items originally rec’d were old and unacceptable. Received an apology and quick replacement. The garlic is delicious. So nice not to have to go to the store to buy this. Garlic is a staple in cooking. |
I’ve ordered twice now and these are very fresh, never a hint of mold… I’m not sure how others have gotten such bad batches. I’m here to. report these are outstanding. |
I planted most of the cloves from these bulbs as a winter crop of garlic to harvest next spring. Almost everyone came up. The two bulbs I didn’t plant, we ate, and they were a delicious flavor. |
I received 6 fresh garlic bulbs in the mail very quickly, they look to be best of the crop and better than what you find in the store. Garlic Smelled so good I wanted to eat them plain before using for cooking I highly recommend! |
They were all fresh and I even got an extra garlic head in my bag that wasn’t in the netted bag! Win win. The cloves were perfect and large too. I will buy these again! |
I used some for planting, and some for cooking. The planted cloves started growing quickly. I’m excited to be growing garlic at home, since I use it in a lot of my dishes. Very pleased. |
I thought I was following the planting directions but they stayed wet too long and went bad. I’m having to order more and try again. A bit annoying. |
I am in zone 6 and these little bad boys are growing strong. I hope they taste awesome when they get harvested in the spring. |
Stay Fresh for a long time. |
Gorgeous bulbs! Very fragrant and meaty and delicious. I am very pleased. |
Beautiful bulbs delivered! |
Fresher than at my local grocery, and the fragrance upon cutting and chopping was wonderful. |
Great purchase – will order again! |

Excellent product! I use a lot of it in everyday cooking and in fact wouldn’t consider even starting dinner without it handy! |
These garlic bulbs are gorgeous. They arrived fresh and fragrant. Beautiful garlic bulbs. Couldn’t be better. |

All the garlic arrived moldy and in poor state, bulbs were mushy and offensive with a rotten odor |
From the United States |
Arrived quickly, all of them took in the ground, very flavorful. |
Not enough information does not say whether it’s for growing or even whether it’s organic |
Play Video |
I just received my garlic today only to open my package and see the garlic bag covered in black mold, i dont believe theres not one clove let alone bulb thats salvageable and of course its unable to be returned. Definitely will not be purchasing their product again and highly recommend you dont as well. |
All organic purple cloves fresh, firm and good size. Same for the Siberian hardneck from Kejora. |
Great product will buy again from this co |
Doesn’t look like the photo – all white, some have brownish stain. When you peel it to pull off a nice fat clove, it turns out every large clove is just a bunch of little ones and you have to peel them all separately. |

I plant the garlic and coming up so good Thanks |
I was so excited to see this garlic available as I had bought some earlier this year similar to it and it was so crisp and potent. I received these and cracked them open only to find them wet and ruined from the inside of the bulb. Every one that we tried to peel open also had similar look of wet insides that were browned. Disappointed as we were hoping to grow some this fall. I love eating the green garlic from this strand as well. Super crisp and garlicky. |

Great product |
Garlic is garlic. But these were exceptional. I didn’t plant them, I ate them. |
Good fresh garlic, got here in 2 days. Highly recommended. |
Very good customer service & delicious garlic 😊 |
Arrived fresh and flavorful. Better than what I’ve gotten at supermarkets. |
Very pleased with purchase. Fast shipment. Excellent customer service. |
I planted about 25-30 and only 6 sprouted. |
No instructions were included or any identification as to what type of garlic these were supposed to be. I couldn’t tell if they were hard neck or soft neck. Planted them next to my berries in some mulch. Not a single one of them sprouted. Every single strawberry plant thrived so I am sure it wasn’t the soil. (Corn, beans and cucumbers all did fine, too.) Not impressed at all. |
Fresh!!! We ate them!! |
Garlic was old, brittle, and very bitter. So dissapointed |
Customer image |
Got these to grow from |
Fresh garlic, perfect! |
Unable to use product in any way – black and moldy upon arrival- no refunds DO NOT BUY!! |
Perfect |
Thank you |
Not excellent, just okay. One pod was off, but the other garlic pods were fine. |
I was sent rotten garlic bulbs and not allowed to return them. |
Customer image |
Garlic was all rotten when received and unable to return |
Nice garlic but half of the bulbs were moldy |
Garlic to plant. Very disappointed in quality. |
GARLIC IS MOLDY AND CLEARLY SPOILED |
I do not like garlic from China. Their fertilizer in many cases is human waste!!!!!! |
Old, moldy, black and rotten food. Just fit for garbage. No return policy. I want my money back. |
Very old and limp. Such a disappointment!!!! 🙁 |
I could have bought the sleeve garlic from Wal-Mart |
I purchased this garlic to plant individual cloves and none sprouted |
excellent garlic bulbs. I will purchase all my garlic from here in the future. |
These were sold to me as organic garlic bulbs, but they did NOT taste nor look anything even close to organic garlic bulbs! They were abnormally round and huge, SO artificial in appearance. I was very disappointed that these were sold to me as organic, and the actual label on them didn’t even say ‘organic’ on it either. I use organic garlic for health problems, so being sold something that was labeled deceptively was a huge bummer. |
Planted the cloves in garden beds, almost 95% germination rates. I tried using cheap white garlic from the store and only got about 35% germination rates. This grew faster too. |
Garlic was old, breaking apart and starting to stem, not fresh at all. Do not recommend |
Unfortunately a short shelf life. Supermarket garlic lasts as long as this does |
Much smaller than expected |
Arrived in excellent condition. |
Fresh garlic, robust flavor. As good as a farmer’s market stall. |
Good quality. |
tasty |
Some of them are rotten when arrive |
I bought these garlic heads for planting in my garden. I split the heads up into the cloves and I’m waiting for the right timing to plant them in fall. But a couple of them have already started to sprout so they seem good quality. No rot anywhere, and the cloves are nice and big! |
Thank you for the products |
The garlic is growing in the third (from the bottom) raised garden bed. They’re doing great. I guess I’m supposed to dry them after harvesting. In the meantime, the greens that grow up taste amazing, like garlic but more herbaceous. Great for salads or salad dressing. I know some folks have gotten garlic that’s moldy or whatever, but, you know, we’re dealing with living food here. It’s always going to be a bit hit-and-miss. |
As Jeremy Clarkson says in his Amazon series, “I grew a thing!” |

The products were carefully wrapped and boxed. They arrived fresh and ready to use. |
I have been to Gilroy in person and love the taste of fresh garlic. The stuff sold in many supermarkets does not compare! Most of the time I am completely thrilled with my order. However, I have had a couple of shipments that were a bit older and drier heads. Could use a little better quality control, but I will continue to buy this product since it is still better than my local source. |
This is Christopher Ranch Garlic but sold by another vendor. The bag looked like it had been tossed around a lot and was full of skins and loose cloves to the point that I couldn’t actually see the bulbs when I first unpacked the product. Once opened and sorted through the mess I found the bulbs firm with about 1/4 of them missing cloves. All of the loose cloves were still viable and placed in my garlic container. The rest of the bulbs were cleaned of remaining loose skin and replaced in bag. Christopher Ranch has the best garlic but would never have shipped a product in this condition. In the future I will buy directly from them and know that I am getting the freshest and best product possible. |
In the mid-west during the Winter and Spring seasons (and perhaps most other parts of the country) finding good garlic can be awfully illusive. Most of the garlic from the latest crops is getting old and the best bulbs are already digested, and harvesting the next fresh garlic is months away. I went searching on Amazon hoping that there would be a seller who had decent garlic that wasn’t either dried or spoiling. The first seller I tried, the garlic came mostly spoiled and inedible. So I tried this seller. I received a two pound bag of fresh, but very small bulbs of garlic. I won’t complain too much, though, because supermarket garlic is just awful tasting. This garlic was not, even if the cloves were very small. Overall, I would buy from this seller again. |
I used them as seeds in raised beds and never watered them |
I think I will buy them again |
The Garlic was very disappointing. I didn’t return because the garlic was usable however there are frequent bad spots on it, and clearly the garlic is old enough that the peals fall right off. NOT fresh at all. I will try to buy one more time and if I get the same thing I will not be buying again. |
We have been buying your garlic for some time now and found it to be the best. Hands Down. |
The flavor is superb. The texture is perfect for grilling stir-fry, smoking chicken, pickle canning. |
We also pickle the garlic. |
A very happy customer. God Bless you. |
Garlic capital. Nice big bag. Fresh. Froze half. Yes you can freeze garlic |
Exactly the right size and a goodly number. Each bulb contains at least 15 cloves. Ideal size for my uses. |
I appreciate that the garlic is grown here according to USA standards and not subjected to some unsavory treatments to garlic that is done in some countries. One complaint I might have is that the garlic may be older than I like because some cloves are starting to sprout or have become brown. |
This was a deal buy for me. I love garlic in almost everything. They also helped improve the taste of chicken and vegetable dinners, even without salt. The taste is creamy. |
We loove garlic and its benefits! plus the fact that we can order on amazon now! this makes our lives easier, the flavour! |
oh my oh my! just perfect! exactly like garlic should taste like: Garlic 🙂 |
Value! of course I give money I get garlic! and all its benefits come along! 🙂 |
Presentation! Exquisite! oh my oh my! who could had thought in such a perfect purple mesh bag for great and awesome 2 pounds of garlic , beautiful with its delicate and beautifully design label! |
These garlic come inside this lovely bag as I said and then inside its original packaging that come from nature itself! oh my oh my! so many years, such excellent design still keeping garlic crazy fresh until I get ready to peel them!, cut them and munch them on super healthy keto crackers that my wonderful husband makes every day! |
Just go for it! Garlic! an investment to your health! 😀 Cheers to Happiness!!! |
I have been ordering garlic from this company for a few years. |
Lately the garlic comes with sprouts and mildew. |
Hope to get fresh garlic in my next order. |
Wow, awesome-fresh delicious garlic 🙂 ! |
Speedy and safe garlic-friendly shipping 🙂 ! |
I was a bit concerned cause of negative reviews below, so I went to the garlic farm website and it looked too great to not take a risk, I do love my garlic blends, heirloom seeding, non GMO, and friendly family businesses 🙂 . |
I also contacted the seller: our Amazon seller lives next door to the garlic ranch. He steps outside and walks next door to pick up his garlic as it is harvested! |
And this awesome garlic shipped well, too, from CA to NM 🙂 . |
I’ve got a trick where I don’t eat the full garlic cloves, I cut the bottom parts (by roots) off and plant in a pot. Real soon, there’s greens and smells nice and fresh, warns off flying insects when screen door opens, and I snip the greens like chives or green onions for salads. |
This garlic is soooooooooo much tastier than traditional softneck commercial CA garlic 🙂 ! |
We’ll be back soon for another 2 lb box! |
Nice |
I’ve been disappointed lately because fresh garlic is impossible to find at the grocery store. I went out on a limb & ordered a bag of this stuff. It crossed the country in less than a week, it tastes good n fresh…. and best of all, it hasn’t started growing its own garlic bush !! |
THE HEADLINE IS A FUNNY. BUT SERIOUSLY, I’M A BIG BELIEVER IN THE OVERALL BENEFITS OF GARLIC. |
AND WHILE THERE MAY BE NO SUCH THING AS VAMPIRES, (ANY MORE) THERE STILL ARE MOSQUITOES. |
FREQUENT USE OF GARLIC IS A DETERRENT FROM MOSQUITOES. THEY HATE GARLIC. NOT ONLY WILL THEY NOT BITE YOU, IF THEY CAN SMELL IT WHEN THEY COME AROUND YOU, BUT THEY ALSO WON’T EVEN BOTHER LANDING ON YOU. GARLIC IS NATURE’S ANTIBIOTIC. EVEN BETTER. ANTIBIOTICS FIGHT TO DESTROY THE BAD BACTERIA THAT MAKES YOU ILL, ALONG WITH THE GOOD (FRIENDLY) BACTERIA, THAT ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM, BY FIGHTING THE BAD BACTERIA. |
GARLIC HELPS BY DESTROYING THE HARMFUL BACTERIA WHILE SUPPORTING THE GOOD BACTERIA, THUS, ENHANCING AND STRENGTHENING THE IMMUNE SYSTEM. |
Not for long term storage. After two weeks, several cloves had brown rotting bits. |
I used to live in Salinas CA, right next to Gilroy. I bought garlic there…fresh, not this dried up, beat up bag of NOT fresh garlic. Roots all dries up. Skins falling off. Brown meat inside…buyer beware! Can buy the same thing in grocery store for less. Just grow your own is my solution! |
This was a disappointing purchase. Even when I first received them most or many of the cloves in every head I have cracked open have brown spots or are completely bad. Having come from Gilroy, California, in what I would think would be a prime time of year for harvesting, midsummer, it should’ve been fresh. |

I was nervous to order this, as I had purchased garlic (from another company) that was absolutely horrid, and we all know that nasty garlic in our grocery stores. This garlic has been fresh and tasty. Half gone and will be ordering more. So far, I have had only one clove that was dried up and brown. And that’s going through half of a bag. I say it’s a ‘win’. |
Many of the galic heads were rotten and there was mold on some. |
Very happy with my garlic purchase. The seller ships promptly, and has excellent responsiveness and communication. USPS lost my original order, and the seller reshipped to me very quickly. The garlic has very full, heavy, fresh , firm bulbs with great color and flavor. Much better than what I found in my supermarkets. Don’t hesitate to buy. |
This is an excellent product produced and sold by an excellent seller. Can’t say enough about them. You know you’re getting a quality product grown as it should be, USA California Heirloom provides peace of mind and is an excellent alternative to the grocery store where imported Chinese garlic is sold. If you don’t know how the Chinese do it, I would strongly recommend you find out. I will buy from this seller over and over again. |
This garlic is always in our kitchen. The quality is dependable and every bulb tastes fresh and delicious. We always make sure we have enough on hand so we won’t ever run out. That would be a disaster. This company is doing everything right.I would love to go to their garlic farm someday just to gaze (and smell) all those acres of garlic! |
Excellent quality, Good vendor. From the Garlic Capital. I thought 2lbs, was a lot. No. It keeps & is s excellent. |
Upon arrival, the bulbs looked great. However, within a few days, they were turning soft & yucky inside. I’ve salvaged what I could. I wanted to plant also but that was impossible. |
Perfect condition speedy shipping |
Made black garlic, appreciated the large cloves. |
Exactly what I needed. |
I will buy again to ensure i am eating a product from the usa. Most garlic in the grocery stores comes from china. This is a decent product, average size cloves, average freshness, well just average i guess. When i ordered i envisioned a beautiful just dug crop, oversized and potent. What i got was an average product grown in the usa. Not totally disappointed but ive been given heads of garlic from weekend gardeners that put these heads to shame. |
you will Not get what you pay for with these small bulbs with tiny hard to peel cloves. at 25.00 for 2 pounds i was expecting something special, but was disappointed. for 25 dollars at walmart i could have bought 8 pounds of large bulbs. this will not happen again there should be a minus 5 stars available. i feel ripped off but live and learn. |
Goog flavor.. light |
I like hot garlic your garlic had a touch of weakness to it but that’s the way it is, all and all I am very satisfied with your garlic. |
What can I say…worth every penny. |
I use it to keep vampires away. None so far |
Gourmet Kilroy Garlic ordered 2lb bag. Garlic was small, half had black rot, and weight estimate was shockingly low. We tossed 8 heads, old Small black rot. Will not reorder. Soo disappointed 😞 Memorial Day Festivities are getting meals will substandard ingredients. |
Customer imageCustomer imageCustomer image |
I have ordered garlic form this same source many times and sad to say this was not the quality I have received in the past. Many of the garlic heads we soft and black and others had dark marks on them. Had to dispose of way to many. Sorry. |
2nd time ordering this garlic.. we use a lot of garlic and it’s hard to find USA grown in my area.. These last awhile. I just put them in a glass jar on my counter or in the pantry. Haven’t had bad ones. Love the flavor. |
Freshest . |
Just the right amount for me—–to save those frequent trips to the store!!! |
Liked the fast shipping. Didn’t like that some of the garlic heads had some bad pieces. |
I’m not able to purchase California garlic in SoCal. Therefore, this is perfect for us. |
The garlics are small bulbs but they have a great taste….better than the larger ones. But our family is different. In fact we also love small artichokes too. |
I’d get tired trying to express how good this is – !!! these bulbs are the size of a bus and soooo tasty |
My first impression was disappointment because the bag was half full and the postal stamp read “12 ounces”. |
However when I weighed the bag, it was exactly 2 lbs. |
The garlic was not much different than what I could purchase locally. The garlic was not particularly fresh or uniquely flavorful. |
Garlic is good. I like the free delivery but it’s still more expensive that supermarket. |
I bought it to make black garlic. I use supermarket, grown in USA, for cooking |
Very even cloves of garlic. Fresh not dried out. Each clove grows. Loved it last year and I love them this year. Thank you for the excellent product! |
The garlic was good as expected and packaged very well. |
You need to hurry and open up the packaging and spread your garlic heads apart. Maybe they had a tough shipment and got cooked and roughly handled. At any rate, enough of this lovely garlic remained to make me happy. It was packaged in 3 layers of postal envelopes to mask the smell but perhaps it should have been in a box to prevent smashing. Add the fresh ones to a large dark container and enjoy for months to come. Cauliflower never had it so good tossed with with olive oil, red pepper flakes, and 1/2 to 1 whole head of garlic roasted at 400 for 30 minutes or so! |
I love that you got the garlic to me fresh and in a timely fashion, and being so remote, that means alot. I will be ordering bi-weekly while here on Afognak Island |
Purchased wrong time of year, harvest is in fall. small heads some dried out, but it’s cheaper than the 1.00 I’ve been paying at the store. |
Quality and size not nearly as good as it was in the past. Tiny cloves and a large number of bad spots. Taste was very average. Disappointing to say the least. |

Not the freshest garlic that I have ordered online so far I will go back to Country Creek Acres for my future purchases and use this up as quick as possible! Having moved to Kentucky from the Central Valley, I let the name Gilroy garlic pull me in I don’t believe this came directly from Christopher Ranch ,although that is the brand name, I believe it was purchased and sold third party. |
Product O K |
Nice produce I only had two cloves that were bad out of two pounds of garlic. |
This garlic was very dried out with many cloves unusable. 🥲 |
I ordered TWO of these and only rec’d ONE. Reached out to seller twice and got absolutely no response. Had to file a claim with Amazon to get resolved. Now what I got seems good, but seller needs to be responsive to issues. |
If this is Gilroy’s finest, I’d hate to see their worst. Such tiny bulbs! Ridiculous!!! |
Great flavor and great service. Finding reasonably-priced garlic here in Florida can be a challenge and I use garlic in everything except my breakfast oatmeal. This is my second order but it will not be my last. Very satisfied with this product and vendor. |
Many of the bulbs were small with black coloring on the outside … brown on the insidr |
Thought coming from CA would be good? These are the Smallest cloves I’ve ever seen. However I baked them in EVOO and smelled & tasted good! They’re little so you’ll have to put five together to make one Reg sized garlic clove from your grocer. Very disappointing and would Not recommend. |
Love the freshness |
Christopher Ranch grows for quality as if you were his neighbor next door. Wouldn’t give you second best and grown in Gilroy, California in beautiful soil You can taste the difference! |
This is a great value for me. It is a dandy thing to add to gifts! It roasts well. Thanks |
Great freshness, knowing it is grown local is the highlight for me. Not grown in a foreign country is Very important. At least to me. |
The garlic they sent were all huge. They were all in great condition. I still have some left & they are definitely worth the purchase. I will be buying these again! |
OMG I don’t think I am going to buy garlic from the store any longer. I’m actually growing my own garlic from what was in this 2 lb. bag but for this first year I am considering ordering another 2 lbs. just for eating because this garlic is really freaking wonderful !! They weren’t kidding when they said “Gilroy’s finest”…then again I also ordered right before the Garlic Festival too which probably means I got some awesome garlic. |
Bought garlic and it’s all bug bites on all the cloves. I have to throw away over have of the garlic heads. Very poor quality |
Garlic arrived in fresh condition and tastes great. Purchased some for eating and some for planting. Excellent value – would buy again. |
I’m giving it 4 stars because it is all growing like mad now but haven’t seen the finished product will come back later to give you an update on the finished product and hopefully a 5 star finest rating on the best garlic ever!! |
All my bulbs arrived fresh, not brown or rotted like some of the reviews I read. Not sure about the price, I think it’s kinda high but, maybe that’s what the going rate is for real garlic grown in the U.S.A. Come to think about it, I did pay $3.99 for 3 bulbs of “organic” garlic from Walmart. |
Trimmed roots, no earth. No different from the stuff Safeway sells. Ripoff stuff. |
muy secos ,no parecen frescos ,lo contrario |
The ones not too dried out had started to sprout. |
These may have had Christopher’s Ranch on the bag, however I don’t believe they were properly stored prior to shipping. |
I used garlic in stir frying and curries. It gives a nice flavor. |
cut the head off a fewer and it was brown gel inside. was going to dehydrate then make garlic powder. ht a bust. these are going to food heaven |
Mostly fairly large cloves a few small ones much better than the Sam’s brand I was using |
These pods were uniform and firm. There wasn’t one head or clove that wasn’t fresh. I was very pleases, because I used it to make black fermented garlic. It came out perfectly! Sweet, soft and tasty. I will be ordering more soon because I ended up giving some of the black garlic to my friends! |
Super Fresh right from the field. A big difference from what you can buy in the store. |
Great price for fresh garlic. Easy to store in net bag. |
I use a lot of garlic in my cooking and like this option much better than the bottled bulk. I use less and get better flavor. |
I really wanted to eat more fresh garlic, and this gave me the chance. I was surprised that it came so fresh. |
If I’am going to loose money I’ll loose it trying to win more back. I don’t like loosing when it comes to buying food I expect to be good to eat. T.V.S. |
The bulbs can in a cardboard box and the smell was amazing when I cut it open. The bulbs are beautiful. |
Customer image |
Very fresh! I knew I couldn’t go wrong with Gilroy area’s garlic. I used half of the bag, then when it started sprouting, I found ways to preserve the rest of it in the freezer online. I will purchase again and again. |
Whole bag was rotted not a single good clove. Avoid this!! Certainly not fresh. Not fit for consumption. Not fit for planting. |
Update, I was sent a replacement bag that was all very good and fresh. Added some more stars. Thank you |
This garlic is much better than the supermarket garlic. It has flavor. |
Shipment if prompt, product fresh and best of all, its grown in the USA. |
Prompt delivery. Used to make garlic confit. Great for pizza dough and on toast. |
Fresh! Great product! |
I love fresh garlic. After ordering 6 bulbs at a time I decided to buy a 2 pound lot. I’m rich! What beautiful garlic: fresh and full |
flavored. Top quality. I will buy again. |

I can’t speak to flavor because I haven’t used them for cooking yet, but unlike others, mine were perfect. I received 5 bulbs as advertised and they all were in excellent condition. I bought these to plant as spring garlic for pest control between my brassicas and I was actually very concerned they looked too good and thought maybe they’d been sprayed with a sprout inhibitor to keep them from sprouting. But that was not the case and all the cloves I planted a few weeks ago have come up! I would definitely purchase again as the seed garlic of the same variety I planned on purchasing is much more expensive. |

Members of the same plant family, garlic and onions do so many things for your heart and immune system, it’s hard to list them all. Garlic’s 70 active phytochemicals may decrease high blood pressure by as much as 30 points, and it lowers rates of ovarian, colorectal, and other cancers, according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Onions are the single best source of quercitin, a flavonoid shown to keep your blood healthy and prevent clots. Both are must-haves for natural allergy prevention. To boost garlic’s health effects, be sure to crush the cloves and let them stand for up to 30 minutes before heating them. Most of an onion’s nutrition is in the skins, so putting the skins in a mesh bag and allowing them to steep in soups or sauces or in my case leaving it in vinegar. I buy these beauties of Monviso CA Heirloom Garlic all the time with bold nutty flavor which is the only commercially grown Heirloom variety in US, founded in 1956 by Don Christopher, the largest fresh garlic grower in the nation, packing some 70 million pounds of these beauties each year. It is so hot and tasty that although I eat a clove every single night, I can never consume any as is unless crushed and mixed with tomatoes for my delicious omelets after my heavy workouts since it will pain my mouth, otherwise I never cook with garlic. To keep the four pound bag fresh, I remove the bulbs from the clove, leave only the one outer layer of the skin on the bulb, and place it in the best CA UNFILTERED EVOO with spices. I use EVOO in all my foods and every night I take out few bulbs, remove the outer layer skin easily and enjoy the strong, tone down taste of the garlic bulb with my food without worrying about my garlic inventory since I insure to have quite few pounds of these beauties laying in EVOO inside jars in refrigerator, a month before consumption. I never heat the garlic since heat kills nutritional value of any food. Cutting and leaving the garlic for some 15 minutes prior to consumption enhances the nutritional value, the sharpness and the taste of garlic. No heating of the garlic except with my omelets. China produces 20 times more garlic than US and amazingly in our grocery stores the Chinese garlic is sold for more than Christopher Ranch garlic. I never consume any Chinese garlic, regardless even when it is on sale which is most of the time, only Christopher Ranch for me. |

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! |
